We'll email you back with the plan, anything we'd change, and what it comes to. Your drawing goes with it, so there's nothing to describe.

Questions about designing your bed

How accurate is the parts list?

Exact. The designer measures your drawing and applies the same fitting rules we use at the counter: 2400mm lengths, 300mm corner arms, four stakes per straight length and three per curve. Prices and stock come live from our range, so what you see is what you would pay in the nursery.

Can I bring the printed plan into the nursery?

Please do — that is what it is for. The plan lists every piece with its size and quantity, shows the cutting diagrams, and includes the installation steps. Bring it to Mortdale and we will pull the order together with you.

How deep does corten edging go into the ground?

About a third of the edging height sits below the surface, so a 185mm edge is bedded roughly 60mm down. That is enough to hold the line straight once the stakes are driven and the trench is backfilled and compacted.

What is the tightest curve the steel will take?

540mm radius. The designer will not let you draw anything tighter, because below that the steel kinks rather than bends. Gentle curves, waves and S-bends are all fine, and curved runs get an extra stake to hold the shape.

Do I need stakes along a straight run?

Yes — four per 2400mm length on straights and three per curved length. Corners need none, because the 300mm arms brace themselves. Your parts list works out the exact count for the bed you have drawn.

What if a piece I need is out of stock?

We still sell it. Anything not on the floor is made to order and takes about two weeks. The designer marks those pieces on your parts list so there are no surprises before you commit.
