Running now at Mortdale

Photos only get you so far with a water feature. The sound is half the reason you want one, and every piece sounds different. These are set up and running at the nursery, so come and listen before you decide. We will order yours in.

Plan your visit
  • The sound does the work

Moving water covers road noise and next door's air conditioner better than any fence. Sit near one for five minutes and you will understand why people buy them.

  • The birds find it fast

A shallow bowl of moving water brings wrens, honeyeaters and finches into a garden that had none. It is the quickest way to bring life into a courtyard.

  • No pond, no plumbing

Every one of ours is self contained. The pump recirculates the same water, so you fill it with a hose, plug it into an outdoor socket and that is the install done.

Good questions

Do I need a pond or a plumber?

No. These are self contained, which means the pump pushes the same water around a hidden reservoir in the base. You fill it with a hose and top it up now and then. The only connection is a power point.

What does it cost to run?

Very little. The pumps are small, in the range of a household light globe, so running one through the day costs cents rather than dollars. You can also switch it off at the socket whenever you like.

Will it breed mosquitoes?

Moving water does not give mosquitoes anywhere to lay, so a running fountain is not the problem a still bucket is. If you turn it off for a long stretch over summer, tip the water out.

How much looking after do they need?

Top up the water in hot weather, and rinse the pump filter every month or so. If the water goes green, empty it, wipe it out and refill. That is about the whole job.

How long until I get mine, and can you deliver?

Water features are an order in item, so allow about two weeks, usually sooner. Local delivery is available at our normal rates. Tell us where it is going and we will work out the easiest way to get it there.

Can I see one before I buy it?

Please do. Six are set up and running at the nursery at 5 Depot Road, Mortdale, seven days a week from 8am to 5pm. Hearing them side by side is the easiest way to choose.

Come and hear them for yourself. We are at 5 Depot Road, Mortdale, open seven days from 8am to 5pm, and someone on the floor can talk you through pump sizes, placement and what suits your spot.
