A large moth orchid with double flower spikes, meaning more blooms held along two arching stems rather than one. The flowers themselves last for months with the right care, making this one of the longest-flowering indoor plants you can buy.
Grow it in orchid bark rather than potting mix, in a pot with good drainage, and water by soaking thoroughly then letting it drain completely. A bright windowsill out of direct sun suits it well; once the flowers finish, cut the spike just above a node for a chance at a second flush.
