Each new leaf on El Choco Red opens coppery red, then deepens over a week or two to dark velvet green. It is a climbing philodendron, so it wants warmth, a little humidity and a pole to work its way up.
Grow it in a chunky, free-draining mix in bright indirect light, and water when the top few centimetres dry out.
