We don't sell this plant online — living stock moves too fast to promise. Visit the nursery or call us to check what's on the benches this week.
Ctenanthe burle-marxii is grown for its striped foliage, broad leaves marked in bands of silvery green above and deep purple underneath. Like its prayer-plant relatives, the leaves lift and fold together in the evening and open flat again by morning.
It wants a bright spot out of direct sun and a potting mix that stays lightly moist rather than wet or bone dry. A little extra humidity, such as a bathroom or kitchen windowsill, helps keep the leaf edges from browning.
